AMANDA MIRIAM BRADLEY

May 21, 1985- January 13, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our daughter, Amanda Miriam Bradley, who passed away on January 13th at Toronto Western Hospital. A resident of Toronto but born and raised in Pain Court. She was the beloved daughter of Dean and Jeanne D’Arc (Cartier). Cherished sister to James Bradley (Marissa) and Sam Bradley (Lanki). Loving aunt to Carson, Emmett and Paisely. Granddaughter to the late John and Betty Bradley and the late Jacob and Clara Cartier (Benoit). She will be missed by numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Amanda Bradley was beautiful inside and out. She was the light of our life and the star to our compass. Taken from us too soon and with her life in full bloom, she was loved by so many for her enthusiasm, gusto and love of life. Throughout her 38 years, Amanda lived her “best life”. A high school teacher in Toronto at Ecole Secondaire Catholique Saint-Frere-Andre, she was passionate about the sciences, biology, her students and so much more.

Amanda saw and did things through a unique filter of love, caring, kindness, sharing and enthusiasm. Whether it was dressing up as a ‘praying mantis’ for her classes during Halloween or cycling with her friends at the New York Five-Bourough marathon, volunteering at the ROM or giving haunted walk tours in Toronto, she embraced everything she did and everyone she did it with. Her interests were varied, eclectic and wide-ranging. She was very creative. She loved to read, do puzzles, knit, play trivia, travel, bike and spend time with friends and colleagues. Kindhearted, Amanda cared for the disadvantaged and the less fortunate. She had a wry sense of humor and loved nothing better than to smile, make a joke and laugh at the funny side of life.

Above all Amanda exhibited a sweetness of soul and spirit. Her’s was a bright light that shone for all the world to see. She was a unique, special and beautiful person. That is why we all loved her and will miss her so much.

Family will receive friends at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, Toronto on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00pm and at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm.
