Obituary of Betty Jean Stevenson

Stevenson: Betty Jean (Robertson) -

A resident of Chatham, ON and long time community member of Fletcher, ON, Betty Stevenson passed away peacefully at the age of 96 with her family by her side . 

Born in Tilbury East Township,  Betty Jean Stevenson was the daughter of  Alexander and Maude (Williams) Robertson. 

Beloved wife of 47 years to Harold Stevenson (1994). 

Survived by her six children, Allan (Ann) Stevenson of Timmins, ON, Daughter, Carol (Gary) McElligott of Baysville,ON, Bob Stevenson of Dundas, ON, Bill (Nadine) Stevenson of Merlin, ON, David (Betty) Stevenson of Baysville, ON, Terry (Erica) Stevenson, Costa Rica.

Beloved Grandmother to her Grandchildren, Scott, Sean and Jon, Lauren and Maggie, Nicole and Ian, Trevor & Hillary. Great Grandmother of 17 Great-Grandchildren. 

Betty was honored to be inducted into the Poetry's Society. She loved to write poetry and became a published author of two poetry books throughout her lifetime.

The family would like to express their sincerest thanks for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Betty over the years from the staff at the Chatham Retirement Resort and from the staff at Copper Terrace.

She will be remembered for her artistic spirit and her tremendous love for her family and for her enjoyment of simple things in life.

Family will recieve guests at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Stewart Cemetery.
