Young: Audrey Laura (née Johnson) -
A resident of Chatham, Audrey Young passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus with family at her side on December 6, 2023 at the age of 88.
Born in Chatham, Audrey was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie (née Hornick) Johnson.
Beloved wife of the late Cecil Young.
Dear mother to Daniel and Joanne Young, Dale and Hody Young, Tim and Cindy Young, Bob and Sue Young and Patrice and Darrell McGee.
Proud grandmother to Jason, Stacey, Laura, Jennifer, Jamie, Timothy, Robert, Allison, Kelly, Jeremy, Samantha, Susan; 23 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Dear sister to Lois Van Hooste (late Alfie), Jim and Helen Johnson, Jack and Diane Johnson.
Sister-in-law to Lorraine Johnson, Brenda Johnson and Diane Johnson, Anne MacKenzie (late Don), Mary Gallant.
Predeceased by her sister Marg Bell; brothers Gerald Johnson (late Marg), Bill Johnson, Larry Johnson and Bob Johnson. Predeceased by her brother and sister -in-law Doug and Alice MacKenzie.
Audrey will also be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Audrey's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to gather at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. for a time to celebrate Audrey's life.
Donations made in memory of Audrey to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
