Marc T. Martin

After a brief and unexpected illness, Marc Martin of Pain Court passed away peacefully

of 67.

Born in Chatham, Marc was the son of Marie Louise (nee Faubert) Martin and the late Arthur
Martin (1976).

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marianne (nee Pepper) Martin. Together, they
raised two children, Andrea (nee Martin) Ellis, and Grant Martin (fiancee Rachel). He was the
proud Pepere to Sophie and Claire Ellis, and Bernice Martin, who were his pride and joy.
He also leaves behind his siblings Michelle (Al) Vanden Enden, predeceased by sister Jeannine
(nee Martin) Lucier (1994), Pierre (Linda) Martin, Luc (Lorrie) Martin, and Marcy (Al) Morrison.

Pepper and Paul (Jackie) Pepper; Marc will be greatly missed by his Mother-in-Law Rosemarie (Trudell) Pepper.

In his youth, Marc loved playing baseball, ice fishing, traping and skating in the ditches with his
brothers and childhood friends. He continued playing first baseman as a young adult. He was an
avid Montreal Canadiens fan after meeting Jean Beliveau as a young boy.

Marc worked in the agricultural sector as a Sales Manager of farm chemicals and fertilizer. He
loved his work and provided sought after advice to local farmers.Through this, he made many
lifelong friends who respected him and relied on his expertise.

After Marc’s diagnosis of cancer in 2006, he unexpectedly needed to retire at the age of 50. He
kept himself busy by refurbishing and auctioning a classic tractor, and donated all proceeds to
the Oncology department at CKHA. Later, he purchased a lot of land and donated this property
to Habitat for Humanity. Lastly, he has helped several strangers over the years by regularly donating blood since the age of 18.
Marc had a tremendous work ethic, and even greater desire to help others, which he was taught
by his parents.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sutherland for her ongoing commitment
in Marc’s care, and Dr Bashir and the nursing staff of the ICU at CKHA for their exceptional
patient care given to Marc in his last days.
