Obituary of Norman O. Goure

Goure: Norman O. A resident of Pain Court, Norman Goure passed away peacefully at Meadowpark Nursing Home on Friday, March 27, 2015 after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Norm was the youngest child, born 69 years ago, to the late Denis & Edna (Charron) Goure. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary (Hubar) Goure, who faithfully stood by his side throughout his long journey. Loving father of David & his wife Brigitte of Grande Pointe, Richard & his wife Cortnee of Chatham, and Stefanie & her partner Benoît Deschênes of Ottawa. Proud Pépé of Deni, Dominic, Olivia, Emma, and Oksana, who were his pride and joy. Dear brother of Orville (late wife Eva) of Chatham, Edward (late wife Dorothy) of Surrey, B.C., Bernard & his wife Simonne of London, Claire Copeland (late husband Jim) of Pain Court, and Irene & her husband Norman Dufault of Tilbury. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Jeannette & Harold Faubert. Norm worked for the Ministry of Transportation for 30 years, retiring as electrical supervisor. His greatest interest and pride lied in his small farm on the 5th Concession in Dover Township. He was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 9693 of Pain Court, and was a long time parishioner of L'Immaculée Conception. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at L'Immaculée Conception, Pain Court on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at L'Immaculée Conception Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Norm to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation are welcomed.
