Shirley Frances Johns A resident of Chatham, Shirley Johns passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on January 24, 2015 at the age of 81. She was born in Ridgetown on December 21, 1933, daughter of the late of Edward & Sara (Ellson) Beck. Beloved wife of the late Charles (Ted) Johns who predeceased her in 2000. She will be lovingly remembered by her step-daughters Sharron Johns of Chatham, and Terry Brooks & her husband Tom of Saint John, New Brunswick. Cherished grandmother of Matthew Brooks (Sonya) of Saint John, New Brunswick, David Brooks of Moncton, New Brunswick, and proud great grandmother of Madison and Averi. Dear sister of Bill Beck of Kamloops, British Columbia, and the late Marion Clark, Lester Beck, and Donald Beck. Special aunt to Carol Hall of Morpeth, and Mary Alyce Galbraith of Chatham, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Shirley was a long time member of Evangel Community Church, and worked for many years at Libby-McNeil in Chatham. Friends will be received at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 & & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Evangel Community Church, 76 Sandys Street, Chatham.
