Obituary of Evelyn Reynolds

REYNOLDS: Evelyn Isobel (nee Webb) - Passed away peacefully at the Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus, Windsor, on Tuesday December 23, 2014, after suffering a stroke at church three weeks earlier. Devoted and loving wife of the late Henry (Harry) Lloyd Reynolds (April 2000) for 53 years. The first child of the late Christopher John (Jack) Webb and Winnifred Martha Hornett, Evelyn was born in the Guelph General Hospital on April 14, 1929. Loving mother of four sons, the late Bruce (August 2012) and Lydia of Delhi; Dan and Marilyn of Harrow; Pete and Gigi of Cambridge; & Ted and Danielle of Guelph. Beloved grandmother of Darren and Karylee Reynolds of St.Catharines; and Kathryn Reynolds of Guelph. Great-grandmother of Colin and Carys Reynolds of St. Catharines. Dearest sister of Cheryl and Alex Clark of Ridgetown; Ron and the late Betty Webb of Chatham; Jim & Pat Webb of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia; and the late William George (Billie) Webb (1940). Predeceased by her in-laws Ada Todd; Esther Knapp; Ann Trudgeon; Edith Burnham; James Reynolds; & Bill Reynolds. Evelyn lived in Ayr before moving to Ridgetown in 1940, at the age of 11. She attended Ridgetown public and high schools, before attending Agar Business College. After her marriage on August 17, 1946, Evelyn moved to the Reynolds farm, Lot 18, Concession 4, Howard Township. Her life occupation was serving others as a farm wife, mother and church leader. She was a former Sunday School teacher and CGIT leader in Knox Presbyterian Church, Turin; a Presbytery Rep; and a member of several Womens' Groups. Evelyn and Harry retired to Ridgetown in 1999. She became a faithful member of Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, where she served as Chair of the Funeral Committee. As a member of the Kent Chapter of the IODE, she knitted for those less fortunate in Canada. She was remembered for many talents and skills, including baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, decorating and tole painting. Noted for her kindness and generosity, she was loved by all. The Reynolds family will receive family and friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday December 29, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Evelyn’s funeral service will be conducted at the McKinlay Funeral Home on Tuesday December 30th at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Paul Shaw. Interment following at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Memorial donations to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Ridgetown or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
