Obituary of Horace Floyd Allen

Allen, Horace Floyd June 14, 1924 - November 29, 2014 of Ridgetown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Riverview Gardens, Chatham, at the age of 90 years old. Loving husband to Alma Marleen (Johnson) for twenty one years. Father of Patricia Allen (John), Linda (Richard) Cunningham, Shelley (Joel) Newton, Rob Allen, Bob (Connie) Beaudoin, Carol McKay, Cheryl Robbins (Jim), Bonnie (Frank) Kalas, Linda (Danny) Parroti, Dan Beaudoin, Rick (Lilliana) Beaudoin, Wendy (Clark) Larry Robertson, and Darlynn "Penny" (Peter)Galipeau. Survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Olive Hicks and Kay Scholl. Brother-in-law of Marvin (Clare) Johnson, Dan (Shirley) Johnson, Wendy Robinson, Dianna (Aadrian) Verhulst, and Michael (Judy) Johnson. Will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son Gary Beaudoin, daughters Debra White and Kimberly Parker, brother Rawley Allen, and brother-in-law Ken (late Joan) Johnson. Horace was Veteran serving in the Navy from 1943 - 1946. He was dedicated to Alcoholics Anonymous for 55 years. Horace worked for Ontario Hydro as a Stationary Engineer. Volunteering many hours and spending time with longtime companions Puddles and Toto. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday December 1, 2014 from 6-9pm. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at 11am. Burial to follow reception at Greenlawn Cemetery, Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Horace may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Chatham Kent and may be arranged through the funeral home.
