Obituary of Noel Clark Courtice

COURTICE, Noel Clark. A resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the age of 83. Predeceased by his parents Frederick & Thelma Courtice (Smith). Beloved husband to the late Shirley Anne Courtice (Needham) (2010). Loving father of Douglas & Jennifer Courtice, of Chatham, and Heather & Terry Coleman, of Grimsby. Cherished grandfather of Erin & Jacqueline Courtice, Trevor, Rowan & Devon Swann, Matthew & Sarah Coleman. Dear brother of Elaine Butler (James), of Brandon, MB, and the late James Courtice. Noel is survived by his sisters-in-law Lorraine Huffman (Richard) and Bonnie Mooder (Robert). Noel is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Noel was a retired pharmacist and an avid photographer, gardener and traveller. Noel enjoyed spending time with his family and boating. He was a former member of the Chatham Granite Club and Maple City Golf & Country Club. He was the past president of the Canadian Cancer Society (Chatham). Noel was a Rotarian & Recipient of the Paul Harris fellowship and a member of the Chatham Camera Club. Noel donated many hours to local charities as volunteering was a significant part of his life. Noel cherished his close circle of friends. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Monday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Sprucedale United Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tyler Powell officiating. Donations in memory of Noel to the Chatham-Kent Hospice and Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
