DEVINE: Vanessa Pearl - A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of New Scotland area, Vanessa Devine passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the age of 92. Born in Blenheim, Vanessa was the daughter of Samuel and Salina (Harris) Lindsay. Beloved wife of the late William A. Devine (1979). Loving mother of John (Betty) of R.R.# 1 Ridgetown, Jim (Carol) of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, Malcolm of London and David (Nancy) of R.R. # 3 Ridgetown. Proud grandmother of John Devine (Lorelei), Andrew Devine (Betty), Jenny Preston; Darren Devine (Cindy), Cheryl Ryckman (Scot); Willy Devine (Kristen) and Kim Devine. Great-grandmother to 12 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Salina Dauphin, Mabel Brown and Louella Turner. Sister-in-law to Carol Ann Lindsay, Madeline Lindsay, Flo Lindsay and Betty Lindsay. Predeceased by her sister Vieletty Neely, her brothers Byron, Mathew “Pat”, Samuel, Lancelot, David, William and Charles and her infant siblings Marguerite, Will, Henry and Thomas. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. She was a member of the Ladies Orange Lodge and the New Scotland United Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Interment to follow at Morpeth Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Vanessa to the New Scotland United Church or to Morpeth Cemetery would be appreciated.
