Obituary of Deanna 'Dee' Vande Sompel

VANDE SOMPEL: Deanna “Dee” (nee Whitesell) – With heavy hearts, we would like to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Dee Vande Sompel. Dee passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the age of 73 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Born in Kirkland Lake, Dee was the daughter of the late Glen and Emma (Salmon) Whitesell. Loving mother of Kerry Meyerink (Dave Hills) of Chatham and Kim Woodcock (Cam) of Cochrane, AB. Proud grandmother of Eric Woodcock (Ebru) of Cochrane, AB, Teri-Anne Woodcock (Jay) of Calgary, AB and Lisa Meyerink of Windsor. Dear sister to Charlotte Sandor (John) of St. Thomas and Wayne Whitesell (Elaine) of Tillsonburg. Also missed by several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Dee will be remembered for her great sense of humour and her young spirit. She was a member of the Women of the Moose #304 in Chatham. A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014.
