Obituary of John 'Jack' Cowell

Cowell: John A. “Jack” A resident of Chatham, Jack Cowell died peacefully at his home, on Wednesday May 14, 2014. He was born in Ridgetown, 84 years ago on June 3, 1929, son of the late George & Hagar (Buller) Cowell. Beloved husband of Donna (Foster) Cowell for 61 years. Loving father of Judy Cowell, Brent Cowell, Dale & Penny Cowell, Doug & Renée Cowell, and the late J. Paul Cowell (2000). Dear father-in-law of Lu-Ann Cowell. Proud grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 9. Jack was predeceased by his granddaughter Bailey Sarah Cowell in 2001. Brother of Ethel Haddock, Ernie Johnston, and the late Phyllis Cumming, Ken Cowell, and Jean Haddock. Jack retired from Siemens Automotive, Chatham. He was a member of the former Chatham Baptist Church, and more recently attended Maple City Baptist Church. He was a long time member and Past President of the Kent Historic Auto Club. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
