Obituary of Archie Dilliott

DILLIOTT: Archie - Archie Joseph Dilliott passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in his 87th year. Archie was born on October 17th, 1927 to Joseph and Muriel (Drew) Dilliott. Beloved husband of Lorraine of 61 years and survived by his sons Kevin (Cathy), Mark (Bing), Glenn (Jane) and grandchildren David, Nicole, Meghan and Rebecca. Predeceased by sons Andrew and Duane. Brother of Jack (Bev), Bernard (Roelie) and sister-in-law Peggy. Predeceased by brothers Paul and Louis. In the past Archie served as a member on various boards and organizations within the community. The school boards, the arena, the curling rink and the swimming pool are a few of the boards he took great pleasure in devoting his time to. Archie’s passion for curling lead him to many bonspiels and memorable moments which he cherished throughout his life. Horse racing was also a sport Archie thoroughly enjoyed however farming is what he cherished above all. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Friday, May 9th, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Michael’s Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 with Fr. Martin Johnston as celebrant. Donations made in memory of Archie to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
