LAPRISE, Art, a lifetime resident of Chatham, was called to heaven peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Clara (Moore) for 66 years. Cherished father of Donat & Lucille Laprise, Louise & Robert Dakin, Marc & Joanne Laprise, Luc & Lucie Laprise and the late Raymond Laprise (2002). Dearly missed by his grandchildren and their families, Renee & Doug Cowell, Avril & Brian Romanick, Rob Dakin, Julie & Rob Warwick, Krysten & Jeremy Visser, Melanie & Chad Dinga, Jeremy & Veronica Laprise, Crissy Lynn, Cailynn & Eric Laprise. Loved by his many great grandchildren and predeceased by Bailey Cowell (2001). Survived by five sisters and predeceased by one sister and three brothers. Art was a valued International Harvester employee and retired after 32 years of service and farming. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Wednesday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Thursday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Daniel Bombardier as celebrant. Interment to take place at Immaculée Conception Cemetery, Pain Court. Donations in memory of Art to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
