Barker, Margaret Emma of Chatham, formerly of Highgate, passed away at Copper Terrace Long Term Care on Tuesday April 14, 2015, age 90. Born on January 2, 1925 in Orford Township to parents the late George Duncan McQuarrie and Anges Annastasia Schindler. Predeceased by her husband Robert Henry Barker (2001). Mother of Don (Darlene) Barker of Chatham and the late George Edward Barker (1951). Grandmother of Kristine (Phylis) and Kelly Barker of Chatham. Great-grandmother of Jeff, Katie, Taylor and the late Anthony (1990). Great-Great Grandmother of Emily and Derek. Sister of the late Gladys (late Cecil) Atkinson, the late Anna (late Calvin) Hogg, the late Norman (late Roxanna) McQuarrie, the late Garnet (surviving Jean) McQuarrie of Blenheim, Ken McQuarrie, the late George (late Dorothy) McQuarrie and the late Herb (late Una) McQuarrie. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Margaret was a member of the Highgate United Church, then Erie Street United Church in Ridgetown. As well, a long-time member of the Rebecca Lodge in Ridgetown and Thamesville. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home in Chatham on Saturday April 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11 a.m.. Reception to follow. A family burial will then be held in the Duart Cemetery. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association by contacting the funeral home.
