Obituary of Esther McKinlay

Peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 15, 2015 Esther Ada (Williams) McKinlay, at Ashwood Manor in Lambeth in her 105th year. Dear wife of John Richardson McKinlay (predeceased 1984). Born on March 27,1910 in Tilbury East Township, Kent County, daughter of John and Grace (Fletcher) Williams, predeceased. Dear mother of Grace (Victor Laursen). Much loved grandmother of Janet and Heather. Loving Great Grandmother of Alicia, Sarah and Shanti. Predeceased by two sisters and two brothers: Eva, Margaret, Alfred and Dawson. Also loved by many nieces and nephews. Esther taught for many years in Chatham area and Ridgetown elementary schools. She was active for many years at Valetta Presbyterian Church, the Christian Church, Ridgetown and more recently attended Chalmers Presbyterian Church, London. Interment has taken place in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown, Ontario. A service to honour Esther's life will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home in Ridgetown, Ontario on July 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Reverend John Bannerman of Chalmers Presbyterian Church, London, officiating. To be followed by a reception. A heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff of Ashwood Manor, Esther's home since September 1999.
