Obituary of Robert Gordon Chambers

Chambers, Robert (Bob) Gordon, a resident of Chatham. Robert (Bob) Chambers passed away Thursday February 19, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 90. Born in Corunna, Ontario son of the late Albert Gordon & Florence Rebecca (Phillips) Chambers. Beloved husband of the late Lily Catherine (Pepper) Chambers. Dear father of Bonnie Lou (David) Mallen, Wallabceburg; Catherine Lynn Chambers, Windsor; Robert (Jr) Chambers, Corunna; Bryan Chambers, Windsor and special son Terry Torrance, Windsor. Grandfather of 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Brother of Virginia Huggins, Sarnia; and the late Fred Chambers (Carol of Sarnia); Violet Atyeo and Raymond Chambers. Bob was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28 Chatham. He served in WW II in the Army Engineers, was past President of Belle River #399 and held several positions during his membership. Bob was active in both his communities of Chatham and Belle River. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday February 22, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Chatham Legion Memorial Service will be held on Sunday at 6:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Bob to the Canadian Cancer Society; the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. James Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
