Obituary of Ron Stevens

Stevens: Ron Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 16th surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born in Boston to the late Ernest and Evelyn Stevens. He will be missed by his best friend and soul mate Nicole (Van De Wynckel) Stevens, and two incredible sons Ronnie and Justin. He is survived by his sisters Nancy (John) Gouthro of West Roxbury, Mass., Lisa Stevens (Fran McHugh) Randolph, Mass. and Paula (Ron) Fouts of Ooltewah, Tenn., and brother-in-law Joe Breed of Framingham, Mass. He is predeceased by his siblings Diane, Ernest and Joya. He will also be missed by his in laws Stella Van De Wynckel – Gleason and Jack Gleason, his sister in law Ann Riegling, as well as all of Jack’s family. He also will be missed by special cousins Sandy (Brian) Maloney, Phylis (George) O’Leary, and Linda Hamilton all of Brookline, Mass. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Ron met the love of his life in Mexico in 1989 and after chasing her on his Harley Davidson for four years they married and settled in Blenheim where they raised the boys. Ron loved to collect and was a meticulous worker who made his house their home. He will miss riding his Harley, walking the beaches, movie time and telling his stories. Ron was a talker and could make a quiet room laugh and a stranger be interested in the conversation. He made people SMILE. As a master craftsman, Ron quickly became a dedicated fan cheering for his sons, Ronnie and Justin in the stands at every volleyball, football, soccer and hockey game. Everyone knows that these two boys, through their incredible talents, sense of humor and intelligent wit will be this carpenter’s greatest masterpiece of all. We would like to thank Dr. Bailey and her staff, Dr. Sullivan and the Chatham Oncology Unit as well as Mary Beth Cadotte for their love and care. A special thank you is extended to the staff and student families of St. Michael's and St. Vincent Catholic Schools for their thoughts and prayers. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Wednesday February 18, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Brookline, Massachusetts.
