HOUSTON: Marilyn Jean (nee Cowley) - Age 85, died peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2015 at her residence. Born in Chatham, November 20, 1929. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Reginald and Hazel Cowley (nee Whittington). Beloved wife of 64 years to Robert. Loving mother of Gary and Judy Houston, Brian and Linda Houston, Dick and Lenore Houston, and Sharon and Dennis Blommers. She was the proud grandmother of Geoff Houston (Sacha Stewart), Eric Houston (Rachel Rizzuto); Melissa Walker (Paul), Chris Houston; Brad Houston (Rachel Smink), Greg Houston, Kailey Houston; Christine Blommers, Shawna McKay (Luke), Mark Blommers and Holly Blommers. Great-grandmother of Riley and Ethan Walker; Mason and Gabrielle Houston. Predeceased by grandson Kevin Houston (2006), great-grandson Emmett Walker (2013) and an infant brother. Also missed by several nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Marilyn was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Harwich. She loved music and was a devoted member of the church choir and the C-K Singers. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday February 5, 2015 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 with Rev. Heather Scott officiating. Private family interment to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Marilyn to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Paul's United Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
