Obituary of Ernest Alexander Kerr

KERR: Ernest Alexander - A resident of Duart, Alex Kerr passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the age of 95. Born in Muirkirk, Ontario Alex was the son of the late Robert and Lila nee Sinclair. Beloved husband of 68 years to the late Joy Kerr nee O'Neill. Loving father of Robert Kerr (Heather) of Guelph, Kevin Kerr (Vicky) of Binbrook and the late James Kerr (1968). Proud grandfather of Sheena Stevens (Jon) of Mount Hope, Jonathan Kerr (Adie) of Toronto, Leisa Kerr of Toronto and Alexandra Rodi (Nick) of Kitchener. Great-grandfather of Zack, Jake, Benjamin, Sammy, Max and Mila. Predeceased by his sister Mary Krause (2006) and brother Sinclair Kerr (1985). Dear brother-in-law to Clarice Moore (Ernest) of Chatham and Peggy O’Neill and Harry O’Neill (Daphne) both of Washington State. Dear brother-in-law to Ron Fuller (Bev) and Shirley Henderson. Special thanks to his dear friend Rosie Guyitt. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Alex was the owner/operator of Kerr’s General Store in Duart for 33 years, a past member of the Covenanted Baptist Church, past Postmaster for Duart area and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Highgate. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Tuesday February 17th, 2015 at 12pm until the Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will have taken place.
