Obituary of Adriana 'Jean' Hoekstra

HOEKSTRA, Adriana (Jean) A resident of Chatham, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance at the age of 61. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Herbert & Louise (Vandersluis) VanDyke. Beloved wife of William Hoekstra. Loving mother of Brad, Dayna, and Emily. Dear Sister of Peter & Lena VanDyke of Chatham, and Helen VanDyke & Bill Bentley of Cedar Springs. Sister-in-law of Jack (Ann) Hoekstra, Shirley (Frank) Singor, Andy (Millie) Hoekstra, Bill (Millie) Hoekstra, Tina (Pete) Schenk, Cecile (Gerry) VanderVeen, Sara (Cor) Vreugdenhil, Gerald (Regiena) Hoekstra, the late Peter (Rolina) Hoekstra, and Mickie Hurst. Jean is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her career started in Hamilton, ON. where she worked as a Registered Nurse for ten years before moving to Chatham. Afterwards, she continued her love of nursing at Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility. She was also a member of First Christian Reformed Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the First Christian Reformed Church, 25 Tweedsmuir Ave East, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
