Obituary of Mildred Garlick

GARLICK: Mildred “Millie” A resident of Chatham, Mildred Isabel Garlick, died peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. She was born in Thamesville, 90 years ago on March 5, 1924, daughter of the late John Orford & Priscilla Almeda (Clayton) McLean. Beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Garlick (2006). Loving mother of Lynn Gore (Michael) of Guelph, Vicky Jackson of Chatham, Brad Garlick of Ridgetown, Kim Garlick of Chatham, and Jackie Pynaert (Sean) of Sarnia. Lovingly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is survived by her dear sister Mabel Gresty, sisters-in-law Evelyn McLean, Betty McLean, and Ann Faubert, and brother-in-law George Garlick and his wife Emily. Predeceased by her siblings Bessie Austin, Archie, Harold, Garnet, Jenny, Carmen, and Donald McLean. She will also be remembered by her numerous nieces and nephews. Millie & Jack were married at Park Street United Church in Chatham, and remained as members there. She also enjoyed long time memberships with the Maple City Golf Course and Chatham Granite Club. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 17, 2014 at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, followed by interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
