DOULAPTSIS: Apostolos ‘Grandpa’ – A resident of Blenheim, Apostolos Doulaptsis passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the age of 87. Born in Kallipefki, Greece, Apostolos was the son of the late Dimitrios and Maria (Mantas) Doulaptsis. Beloved husband of the late Eleni (Kylindris)Doulaptis (2009). Dear father of Jim Doulaptsis and his wife Helen of Blenheim, and Christina Dassios and her husband Jack of Blenheim. Grandfather Stephanie DeSousa (Derek) and their son Christiano; Aurilia Mitsantas (Teo); Paul Dassios; Greg Dassios (Tatiana) and their two children Jackie and Sandy; and Nektarios Dassios. Apostolos is survived by seven siblings in Greece and one brother in Australia. He was a member of St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be held on Sunday at 8:00p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, 816 Grand Avenue East, Chatham on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
