Obituary of Betty Lou English (Russell)

English (Russell): Betty Lou - Passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Riverview Gardens with family at her side at the age of 90. Born in Chatham in 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Hilda Lanning and sister to Joan Jamieson (late Bill), now a resident in Diamond Bar, Calif. Betty Lou is survived by her children Scott and his wife Ginny, Charlene and her husband Boris, and Paul and his wife Elsje. She was beloved by grandchildren Chelsea, Taylor, the late Braden (2015), Joshua, Ben and Jonah.

Betty Lou married her first husband, Cliff, in 1956. Together they ran a dairy operation near Charing Cross and were prominent members of the community and local church. They instilled in their children the value of work and the importance of family and friends. Betty Lou always had time for others and her home was filled with laughter and great food at every holiday occasion. Despite the demands of farming, Betty Lou and Cliff found time for annual family vacations with the children, introducing them to sites across the continent plus the joys of travel. After Cliff passed away in 2006, she married Ivan English in 2010 and they enjoyed five remarkable years together.

The family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home at 141 Park St., Blenheim, on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Private Family Service will be held with an interment to follow at Pardoville-Union Cemetery.
