Obituary of Jean Uher

UHER: Virginia "Jean" (Svehla) -

1933 - 2022

On a beautiful Sunday morning, surrounded by family, Jean passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Hospice on March 6, 2022 at the age of 88.

Beloved wife of 60 years to the late Joseph Uher (2015).

Cherished mother of Steve Uher (Alice), Stan Uher (Jane), Dave Uher, Carole Easter, Darlene Trottier (Patrick) and Mike Uher (Corinne).

Loving Nana to over 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born in Raleigh Township, Jean was the daughter of the late Peter and Marie (Hubacek) Svehla. Jean was the youngest and last surviving member of her family. Predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Josephine, Mary, Lillian, Peter, Rose, Ann and Helen.

Our kind and gentle Mom devoted her life to the church and her family, always ready to offer her time and talents to anyone in need. She was passionate about gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with family. She was especially proud of her Czech heritage, supporting and celebrating it through the St. Anthony's Czech community.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough Street, Blenheim at 10:00am on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. The Mass will be live-streamed on the Funeral Home website.
