Obituary of Laverna Campbell
CAMPBELL: Laverna - Passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Laverna was the daughter of Mary Smolders. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba 84 years ago. Beloved wife of the late John G. Campbell (2020).
Loving mother to her children Robert (Helen) Campbell of Blenheim, Gordon (Shirl) Campbell of Chatham, Sherri (Peter) Burke of Blenheim, Jo (Robert) Oke of Chatham and Lisa (Lawrence) Jasper of Chatham.
She had 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren two step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
Survived by her siblings Raymond (Pat) Smolders of Chatham, Linda (Ken predeceased) Williston of Dutton, Rick (Cindy) Smolders of Blenheim, Ron (Sue) Smolders of Thamesville and Henry (Penny) Smolders.
Also missed by her in-laws Helen Coyle (Gordon), Maxine Paxton (Don), Gayle Campbell (Jim Brodie) and Joanne Campbell. Predeceased by her in-laws Leo Campbell (Eunice), Marion Hutchison (Douglas), Gladys Lawrence (James), Lyle Campbell (Doris), Murray Campbell and Allan Campbell.
Laverna will be missed by nieces, nephews as well as special friends Alice Van Overloop, Marjorie McLeod and Nancy Blonde.
When not holding her knitting needles to make her many famous blankets, she could be found volunteering at Thamesview Lodge and then Riverview Gardens. She was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters.
A Private Funeral Service will be Live streamed on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00pm on the funeral home website. Please give to your favourite charity.
