Obituary of Marjorie Burk

BURK: Marjorie Mary (nee Tedford) - A resident of Blenheim, Marjorie Burk passed away at the Blenheim Community Village with her family at her side on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the age of 84. Born in Harwich Township, Marjorie was the daughter of Samuel and Eliza (Huffman) Tedford. Beloved wife of 61 years to R. Wayne Burk. Loving mother of Brian Burk (Sue) of Petrolia, Allan Burk (Darlene) of Chatham and Joyce Jay (Philip) of Wyoming. Proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Ruth Tedford of Blenheim and sisters-in-law Madeline Tedford, Patricia Burke (late Glen) and Sylvia Burk (late Ralph). Predeceased by her brothers Hubert Tedford and John "Jack" Tedford (late Anne). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Marjorie retired after teaching for many years at the Harwich Raleigh Public School. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Retired Teacher's Association. Marjorie was a skilled quilter, and was known to donate quilts to the Trinity Anglican Church. She was active with the former Rebekkah Lodge in Blenheim. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016 with Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at Ouvry Cemetery to be held at a later date.
