CRANSTONE: A resident of Chatham, Evelyn Cranstone passed away at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the age of 85. Born in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of the late Gordon and Loa (Walker) Ackert. Beloved wife of Eric Cranstone for 67 years. Dear mother of David Cranstone and his wife Pat of Chatham, Michael Cranstone and his wife Irene of Burlington, and John (Wayne) Cranstone and his wife Bonnie of Chatham. Grandmother of Jay, Brian, Mark, Robert, Steven, and Stephanie Cranstone, and Melissa Jannack. Great-grandmother of Dylan, Sydney, Evan, Connor, Jordan, Paige, Trent, and Casey. Sister of James and Lillian Ackert of Chatham, and the late Erma Bell and Betty Davis. Sister-in-law of Lawrence Haney of Chatham and his late wife Alma. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cranstone was a member of St. Andrew’s United Church and the U.C.W. She also volunteered for a number of years at Victoria Residence. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Thursday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Brooks of St. Andrew’s United Church officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations to the charity of choice would be appreciated.
