A resident of Chatham, Ronald Towsley died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the age of 81. Born in Howard Township, son of the late Roy L. and Ethel C. (Chappalow) Towsley. Beloved husband of Marion I. (Braithwaite) Towsley for for 59 years. Loving father of Bruce Towsley and Susan MacEwen of Chatham and Betty and Barry Elgie of Chatham. Grandfather of Tyler and Tara, Tanner, Trenton and Mary, Brandon and Lauren, Derek and Kristen and Maron. Great-grandfather of Savannah. Brother of Dorothy and Ben Gieseke of California,William and Isobel Towsley of Sauble Beach, Ethel and Del Blaine of California, Marie and John Morley of Windsor, Kathy and Jack Millard of Ottawa, Jim and Edith Towsley of Blenheim and predeceased by Eugene Towsley. Ronald was the former owner/operator of Towsley Mufflers. He was a veteran of W.W.II, having served overseas in Holland with the Canadian Army. He was also a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #28 and St. Paul's Congregational Church. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Legion Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from the Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Margaret Moriyama of St. Paul's Congregational Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations, made by cheque, to Canadian Cancer Society or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated.
