Obituary of John Cotter Hegan

A resident of Chatham, John (Jack) Cotter Hegan died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the age of 77. Born in Belleville, son of the late Hugh and Madge (Lancaster) Hegan. Beloved husband and best friend of Helen (Larner) Hegan for 57 years. Loving father of Gregory and Laura Hegan of Ayr. Grandfather of Jason, Nicole, Jamie and Krista. Great grandfather of Austin and Cotter. Brother-in-law of Ann Manning of Fernie, B.C. Jack worked for A&P Food Stores for over 40 years. He was a member of Branch 28, Royal Canadian Legion, Parkinson Society, Holy Trinity Church and Parthenon Lodge No.267. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parthenon Lodge #267 will hold a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2006 from Holy Trinity Church. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations, made by cheque, to Parkinson Society appreciated.
