Obituary of Mary May Edinboro

EDINBORO: A resident of Chatham, Mary May (Griffith) Edinboro died on Friday, March 3, 2006 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance. Born to the late Clarence and Roselin (Bhola) Griffith in Alberttown, Georgetown, British Guiana (Guyana), South America in 1938. Beloved wife of Lawrie Edinboro. Loving mother of Marcelle Ann Edinboro of Barrie, and Lorraine Angela Edinboro Agyemang and husband Justice Agyemang of Toronto. Mary is also survived by sisters Addie Hope, Guyana; Roseline Griffith, Guyana; Evlin Saunders and husband Winston, New York; brothers Beresford Griffith and wife Beulah, Guyana; and Charles Griffith, Virginia; and nephew William Cozier and wife Eilleen, Toronto. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by sisters Elizabeth and Vera and brother in-law Vernon Hope. Mary was a member of the Guyana Civil Service before coming to Canada in 1969. She worked in Toronto for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Gurarie, Rowan and Company, and Chartered Accounts. While in Chatham, Mary worked for Manpower, Unemployment Insurance, and the Ministry of the Attorney General through the Ontario Provincial Court. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church. The Edinboro family will recieve friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2006, with Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Stan Michalek officiating. Cremation with interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery at 1:00 p.m on Saturday, March 11, 2006 . Memorial Donation made by cheque to the charity of one's choice are welcomed.
