Obituary of Paul Boire

BOIRE, Paul B.E.S., B.Arch., O.A.A., M.R.A.I.C. February 9th, 1953-December 6th, 2005 “I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving; to reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it-but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.” Oliver Wendell Holmes At his home surrounded by the family he so loved. Paul leaves behind his devoted and heartbroken wife Linda and son Matt. He will be sadly missed by his loving mother Pat Smith, sister Pam Boire, nieces and nephews of Oakville, Ont., and especially by his devoted sister-in-law Leslie Topping of Toronto. Predeceased by his father Edward Boire. Paul lived and died with dignity and courage. His untimely death is a tragic loss to his family and community. He was a man of faith, goodness, kindness and integrity. Paul attended Michael Power High School in Toronto and The School of Architecture at the University of Waterloo. He was a partner of the architectural firm J.P. Thomson Associates Ltd. with offices in Windsor and Chatham, Ont. Paul’s happiest days were spent with family and dear friends at his cottage in Rondeau Park and sailing with his son Matt. He will be mourned and missed by all who loved him. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 8 at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 145 Victoria Avenue in Chatham at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2005 with Rev. Fr. Dennis Wilhelm and Rev. Fr. Joseph Nevett Concelebrants. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
