Obituary of Dorothy P. Bryant

Bryant, Dorothy P. died on June 11, 2015 at home with her family. She was 94 years old and predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Bryant on August 22, 1997. They had enjoyed 47 years together. She was born Dorothy Pauline Hawthorne in Waweig, New Brunswick, February 7, 1921. Beloved daughter of her father, Albert (1977), her mother Uzilla (1927) and her second mother Ethel (1978). Loving mother of Donna and Robert Russelo of Comber, Lynn Bryant, Chatham, Pauline and Dennis Guttridge, Belle River, and John and Patricia Bryant, Orangeville. Predeceased by beloved daughter Dianne Lockwood (1996). Beloved grandmother of Timothy and Daniel Lockwood, Tina Guttridge-Crangle, Tara Noel, Dennis Albert Guttridge, Melisa Guyett, Debbie O’Neill, Ryan and Nathan Johnson, Nicholas and Philip Bryant and Megan Carruthers. She will be missed by great grandchildren Amanda and Emily Lockwood, Jamieson Carr, Kaitlyn, Brooke and Vanessa Guyett, Natalie Johnson and Alexander Kieran, Finn O’Neill, Tara Marie, Emily, Michael, Caeley and Lucas Bryant, Connor, Jocelyn and Lilian Noel, and great-great granddaughter Alannah Roberts. Predeceased by brothers Keith (Caroline), Arthur (Marguerite), infant Gordon Hawthorne, step-brother Gordon (Aileen) and sister-in-law Mary Carr (Vernon). Predeceased by one sister, Clara Bacon and survived by Clara’s husband Roger Bacon of Amherst, Nova Scotia along with many nieces and nephews and their families. Dorothy was a member of the former Grace United Church. She retired from Cedar Springs Hospital in 1975, after 10 years. Dorothy and Donald enjoyed many years with the family at the farm on No. 3, RR 2, Merlin. Alter Donald passed, Dorothy spent many happy years living with Dennis and Pauline in Belle River. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday June 14, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eric Skillings officiating. Interment Pardoville-Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it was Dorothy’s wishes that donations be made in trust to her great-granddaughter Emily Bryant.
