MIFFLIN: Doreen Ruth (nee Watson) - A lifelong resident of Chatham, Doreen Mifflin passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance - Chatham Campus on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the age of 79.Born in Chatham, Doreen was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Adey) Watson. Cherished wife of 57 years to Murray Mifflin. Beloved mother of Todd Mifflin (Annette) and Tammy Kellam (Randy) all of Chatham, and the late Terry Mifflin (1997). Dear mother-in-law to Natalie Skelton (Rob). Proud Nana of Joshua Mifflin, Barrett Mifflin (friend JC), Ryan Mifflin, Madison Mifflin (friend Kyle); Brandon Kellam (friend Caroline), Joel Kellam; Megan Jewell (Brad) and Luke Mifflin (friend Summer). Great-Nana to Ryden, Barrett, Sydney and Kennedi; Jaelah, Braelah and Myrah; Maddox and Sophia. Predeceased by her infant brother Ray Watson. Nana will be missed by her four-legged friend Mojo. Doreen retired from the Kent County Building after over 20 years of service, and had previously worked at Union Gas. She sang for the Sweet Adeline's for many years and was active at the Gregory Drive Alliance Church. Doreen was an avid reader, and will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her kindness and the courageous battle that she fought. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Gregory Drive Alliance Church, 255 Gregory Drive West, Chatham at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 with Pastor Gord Reynolds officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made in memory of Doreen to the Canadian Cancer Society or the O.S.P.C.A. Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
