Obituary of Chuck Reid

REID: Charles K. Apr. 17, 1925-Dec. 29, 2012. A resident of Chatham, Ontario. Born in Chatham 87 years ago, he worked for Chrysler Canada (Chatham, Windsor Ont.) for 35 years. He served in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve from Apr. 29, 1943 to Dec. 6, 1945 in the North Atlantic Theatre aboard the HMCS Eastview. Member of Branch 28 Royal Canadian Legion (Gold Member) and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Predeceased by his parents Lyle and Irene Reid, brothers Jack, David (Cathy), Barry (Pat), and sister Clara (Doug Parrish), and his first wife Jean (nee Smith) of 50 years. Survived by son Terry (Luann) of Chatham, their 2 sons, and daughter Pamela (Brian Brooks) of Thorndale, their 2 sons, and 2 grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Natalie of Massvale, Australia, and Sharron (Mike Kenney) of Komoka. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Barnwell/Morton) for 11 years. Stepfather of Keith (Peggy) Barnwell of Brampton, their 4 children, and 1 grandchild, and step-daughter Nancy Standard of Chatham, and her 2 daughters. Cherished friend of King and Shirley Terry. In keeping with his wishes, no funeral services will be held. Cremation will occur and a private burial service will be held at a later date.
